SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Bombers recorded a first and third place finish in the 400-yard relay, the final event of the meet, to record a come-from-behind 122-121 win at Division II Le Moyne. The win was secured by the third-place team of sophomore Kara Senecal (Drury/North Adams, Mass.), senior Jill Donaldson (Penfield/Boothwyn, Pa.), sophomore Kristin Schwartz (Concord-Carlisle Regional/Concord, Mass.) and senior Becky Natoli (Sherburne-Earlville/Sherburne), who finished with a time of 3:53.92.
Recording a win in the 400-yard freestyle relay was the team of junior Nikki Gundersen (Hollis-Brookline/Brookline, N.H.) and sophomores Kara Oberg (Southington/Southington, Conn.), Kelly Turpin (Mounds Park Academy/St. Paul, Minn.) and Jovanna Hart (Bradford Area/Bradford, Pa.) with a time of 3:44.61. Ithaca also recorded a win in the 400-yard medley relay as the team of Donaldson, freshman Lauren Botterbusch (Dallastown/York, Pa.), sophomore Kelsey Gliesing (Joel Barlow/Redding, Conn.) and Oberg finished with a time of 4:17.70.
Individually, Hart recorded a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.14 and placed third in the 100-yard freestyle (56.67), while Gundersen recorded the win with a time of 56.49. Botterbusch won the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:30.45, while sophomore Jennifer Traylor (Los Alamitos/Los Alamitos, Calif.) placed second in 2:37.79.
The Bombers recorded a one-two-three finish in the 200-yard backstroke as Turpin placed first (2:16.28), Donaldson placed second (2:19.39) and sophomore Liz York (Acton-Boxborough Regional/Acton, Mass.) placed third (2:19.60).
Ithaca's next dual meet will be on Jan. 28 at Rochester at 1 p.m.
